‘Wishbone’ goes to CinemaLab filmfest

Iranian 'Wishbone' is to vie at the 1st CinemaLab Film Festival in Colombia.

Acclaimed Iranian title 'Wishbone' has made its way into the official selection of the 1st edition of the CinemaLab Film Festival in Colombia.

Directed by Ali Atshani, ‘Wishbone’ compares and contrasts the ups and downs experienced by a fired coach who met a girl with whom he had a relationship several years prior.

The cinematic work features famous Iranian actors Hossein Yari, Mitra Hajjar, Mahchehreh Khalili, Azadeh Mehdizadeh, Bita Atshani, Maziar Fallahi and Khashayar Rad.

‘Wishbone’ has gone on screen at a number of global events, including the 5th Darbhanga International Film Festival in India, the 2018 Out Of The Can Film Festival in the UK, and the 2018 Switzerland International Film Festival.

Some of the film's accolades also include the awards for best feature film and best director of the year at the WIND International Film Festival in the US and Best Cinematic Film at the 3rd London Independent Filmmakers Association Festival in the UK.

‘Wishbone’ was also nominated for the Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Editing, Best Supporting Male Actor and Best Cinematography awards at the WIND International Film Festival and received six nominations at the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Berlin in Germany.

The CinemaLab Film Festival, as put by the event’s official website, “is an opportunity for the maturation of feature film projects and low-budget series, in the script, construction or finalized in search of promotion and distribution, so that, strengthened by the collaboration and advice of experts, they can advance and consolidate.”

The upcoming edition of the festival is scheduled to be held on January 30–February 4, 2020.
